- The Albemarle County Architectural Review Board meets at 1pm Monday, May 5 at the Albemarle County Office Building on McIntire Road.
- The second of two community meetings on transportation hosted by Albemarle County Supervisors Brad Sheffield and Diantha McKeel takes place from 7-9pm Monday at the Jack Jouett Middle School library, 210 Lambs Lane in Charlottesville. The meeting will offer members of the community the chance to weigh in on various transportation issues, including the ongoing question of how to spend the $240 million originally allocated by the state for the now-defunct Western Bypass.
- The Charlottesville City Council holds its first regular meeting of May at 7pm Monday in Council Chambers at City Hall. The agenda includes a report on the state of the Charlottesville Affordable Housing Fund and the first reading of amendments to the city’s stormwater regulations.
- The Albemarle County Planning Commission meets from 6-9pm Tuesday, May 6 in Lane Auditorium at the Albemarle County Office Building. On the agenda: a public hearing on a rezoning proposal that would allow a 400-unit mixed-use development called Rivanna Village near Glenmore in Keswick.
- The Route 29 Advisory Panel, a group of officials called together by the Virginia Department of Transportation to come up with alternatives to the Western Bypass, holds its final meeting from 1-3pm Thursday, May 8 at the Virginia Department of Transportation’s Center for Transportation Innovation and Research, 530 Edgemont Rd.
- The city will hold another public meeting on the Belmont Bridge redesign from 6-8pm Thursday at City Space on the Downtown Mall. The City Council will discuss design proposals at its May 19 meeting.
