Parlor Greens at The Southern 9/13

Get heavy

Self-described “fresh organ trio” Parlor Greens built its funky instrumental reputation with In Green We Dream, the band’s 2024 debut. The three pros of R&B music—Tim Carman (Canyon Lights, formerly of GA-20) on drums, Jimmy James (True Loves) on guitar, and Adam Scone (Scone Cash Players, The Sugarman 3) on organ—go heavier on the group’s sophomore effort, Emeralds. The album carries emotional weight following personal tragedies in the musicians’ individual lives, but they process it all on this sonic freight train of soul-powered love. Charles Owens Trio opens the show. $28.35, 8pm. The Southern Café & Music Hall, 103 S. First St. thesoutherncville.com
