Woodson owns up to Waynesboro crimes

Slade Allen Woodson, the 19-year-old charged with the shootings along Interstate 64 that shut down schools and some businesses at the end of March, has pleaded guilty to six felony counts stemming from the Waynesboro portion of the evening, according to The Daily Progress. In Waynesboro Circuit Court, the prosecutor laid out the post-Albemarle events of the night, including a midnight ammunition run at Wal-Mart and shots fired into the DuPont Community Credit Union and a residence. Woodson’s 16-year-old accomplice still has charges pending in Waynesboro Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. Woodson has a September trial scheduled in Albemarle County.

Woodson reportedly told the Waynesboro court, “I am truly sorry for not preventing this from happening, and I will take full responsibility for my actions.”
