As of 1pm, 11,877 people, or 41.4 percent, cast their ballots in the eight precincts in the City of Charlottesville.
Here is a breakdown by individual precinct:
Recreation – 1,991 votes cast – 43.22% of precinct
Clark – 1,302 votes cast – 41.41% of precinct
Carver – 979 votes cast – 43.22% of precinct
Walker – 1,532 votes cast – 50.39% of precinct
Tonsler – 1,065 votes cast – 41.26% of precinct
JPA – 1,8481 votes cast – 40.70% of precinct
Venable – 2,051 votes cast – 36.44% of precinct
Alumni Hall – 2,804 votes cast – 39.55% of precinct
The numbers don’t include those who voted absentee. Alumni and Venable are the two biggest precincts for UVA students—being a student was one excuse for voting early, so possibly the absentee numbers are higher for those districts. Then again, maybe the kids rolled out of bed and decided they didn’t want to take a walk in a mild drizzle.
