Just keep swimming

Talk about making a splash. Some of swimming’s biggest stars descended on UVA’s Aquatic & Fitness Center October 15 and 16 for the Virginia SCM World Prep Pro Am, including Olympic champions Katie Ledecky, Caeleb Dressel, and Simone Manuel. But it was a hometown favorite who stole the show: Virginia alumna (and Olympic gold medalist) Gretchen Walsh broke her own world record in the 50-meter freestyle Friday night, capping off the two-day meet in record-breaking fashion.
