Thunder and lightning may have cut short Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit’s July 26 benefit concert for the Charlottesville Free Clinic, but the sudden storm couldn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the band or its fans. For more than an hour, Isbell and co. poured forth heartfelt hits like “24 Frames,” “Dress Blues,” and “If We Were Vampires,” along with older numbers from his Drive-By Truckers days—not to mention a killer cover of Paul McCartney and Wings’ “Let Me Roll It.”
