Sheesh, a dude leaves town for a few days of uninterrupted looking and listening and reading, then comes back to Robin Zander? What have I done to deserve such riches? A few updates:
- Cheap Trick is coming to the Jefferson Theater. For other concert attendees, it means you get a free CD with paid admission. Here’s a second admission, free of charge: "Surrender" is one of my top five karaoke songs. (Click that link at your own risk; karaoke singers are all right, but they just seem a little weird…)
- Reading Second Street Gallery‘s blog, A Second Look? The Downtown Mall gallery announced via the blog that it will hang works submitted by member-artists in mid-January. I’m excited because, while being an artist often means being a member at some local galleries, being a member doesn’t necessarily mean being an artist. Here’s hoping for some interesting first-time local submissions on the SSG walls.
- Devon Sproule recently took home the ASCAP Foundation’s Sammy Cahn Award for songwriting. At the ceremony, Sproule and Paul Curreri covered a song by Arlo Guthrie, who took home the ASCAP Champion Award. See photos of the event on Sproule’s blog.
Back in a bit, after I loosen up those vocal cords. "But don’t give yourself awaaaaaaaaaay!"
