Dave Matthews in 3D, Rev. Billy at Random Row and more [VIDEO]

Friday is the day that new flicks roll into the local movie theaters. Wednesday, however, is the day that Fandango lists what we can expect to see on the silver screen. This Friday at Carmike Cinema? Dave Matthews in 3D: Larger Than Life. Which, the film’s listing stresses, will be an extremely limited engagement:

"It will never be on DVD or TV. This production was made for a once in a lifetime event and meant to be on the big screen. Only in 3D. Only in movie theatres. And seriously…only for one week." The flick also includes performances by Ben Harper and the soon-to-drop-your-New-Year-balls Gogol Bordello.

Here’s the trailer. What do you think? An essential for the DMB completist?

Curtain Calls wrote about Reverend Billy in a 2007 C-VILLE column, when the Morgan Spurlock-produced film What Would Jesus Buy? was released. Ryan DeRamus, the proprietor of Random Row Books, e-mailed Feedback today to let him know that he will host a free screening of the documentary Reverend Billy and the Church of Stop Shopping tomorrow night at 7:15pm. (Side note: The Reverend is married to former local and Zen Monkey Project co-founder Savitri Durkee.)

And Green Scene has a film recommendation as well: Coal Country screens tonight and tomorrow at Vinegar Hill Theatre.

Film—that all-important seasonal shoring against the ruinous cold of winter. Any other recommendations for this time of year?
