City Council candidate Bob Fenwick does not regret having run as an Independent.
“It has been a privilege to go in front of the community and saying things that needed to be said,” he told C-VILLE at the campaign’s party.
According to the Virginia State Board of Elections, with 66 percent precincts reporting, Mayor Dave Norris is leading with 38 percent of the votes, followed by fellow Democrat Kristin Szakos.
“The Democratic party is very powerful in the city,” he says. Fenwick is joined at Milano by followers Betty Mooney, Dede Smith, his wife Victoria and another handful of city residents.
Fenwick was a vocal opponent of the YMCA in McIntire Park and of the Meadowcreek Parkway. “I don’t regret it,” he says with a smile. “It’s been good for the city.”
