Not every town is tickled pink to have Red Light Management get involved in a project. Coran Capshaw’s company won a $120,000 contract in April to conduct a feasibility study for a riverside amphitheater in Roanoke.

New president of Thomas Jefferson Foundation announced
Months after the November announcement that Daniel P. Jordan, the 24-year veteran and chief executive of Monticello’s governing body, would retire, a press release from the Thomas Jefferson Foundation has announced that Leslie Greene Bowman will take over on November 1 of this year. Bowman’s appointment is timed to coincide with the opening of the 42,000 square foot, $55 million Thomas Jefferson Visitor Center and Smith Education Center.

Leading downtown art gallery to close
Les Yeux du Monde, the Water Street art gallery owned and directed by Lyn Warren, will vacate its space on June 30. An exhibit by photographer James Nachtwey, ironically titled “The Unvanquished” and planned as part of the second annual Festival of the Photograph, will be LYDM’s last show, according to Warren.
