In an exhilarating display of acoustic virtuosity, A Fingerstyle Guitar Showcase celebrates two performers with contrasting, yet complementary repertoires. Japanese-born Hiroya Tsukamoto (pictured) layers soulful instrumental compositions with lyrical vocalizations and spoken-word stories drawn from his own life. Richmond-based Ty Burkhardt incorporates specialized percussive techniques, such as striking the body of his guitar and two-handed playing. Both Tsukamoto and Burkhardt have been acknowledged for their individual prowess in international competition. $20–25, 7pm. The Front Porch, 221 E. Water St.
