Michelle Obama spoke at UVA

A crowd of at least 2,500 gathered at UVA’s Newcomb Hall Plaza this afternoon to attend the Women for Obama voter registration rally with Michelle Obama and Jill Biden, the wives of the Democratic presidential and vice-presidential candidates.

So far, we haven’t seen any large-scale shift in American energy habits (the closest I’ve noticed are the stats about many drivers cutting down on their gas usage). But little changes are making news, like these two recent items about renewable energy coming to our area.

Tom Perriello attacks Goode on Wall Street crisis

In a statement released today, Perriello, Democratic candidate for the Virginia’s Fifth Congressional District, slammed opponent and incumbent Virgil Goode for the current economic crisis, more specifically the news of Lehman Brothers filing for bankruptcy and the imminent sale of Merrill Lynch to Bank of America.
