A nonprofit, community hospital established in 1903, Martha Jefferson has recently entered negotiations with a North Carolina development firm to redevelop its 14-acre downtown campus. The hospital is moving to Pantops in 2012.
Martha Jefferson owns nine primary care practices and one specialty practice. The Outpatient Care Center was opened in fall 2003 and is 94,000 square feet.
Fun Fact: According to 2006 data, 1,700 babies were born at MJH that year.
