Seattle University, in just their second season at the Division-I level, came into the the ACC’s John Paul Jones Arena and just out-hustled Tony Bennett’s Wahoos Wednesday evening winning 59-53.
Virginia never got closer than six in the second-half in the loss.
Mike Scott surprisingly returned from his injury absence, but did not seem to provide much of a spark as he finished with twelve points and eight rebounds. K.T. Harrell added 16 for Virginia.
Seattle was led by Sterling Carter (sounds like a Virginia name) who pitched in 19 points for the undermanned Redhawks.
Wow, the near-loss Monday versus Norfolk State Monday, and this unfortunate display this evening has complicated Coach Bennett’s rebuilding effort just a wee bit more…
Go Hoos!
P.S. I will be sitting in for Mac McDonald’s radio program tomorrow from 3-6 Thursday December 23, as well as December 30-31. So, listen in Hoo’s fans on 1400 WKAV AM. Thursday I will have: Pete Gillen, Jim Hobgood, Jerry Ratcliffe, Jimmy Graves from Graves Mountain Lodge, and I’ll tell a story about my buddy Charlie raising (and killing) chickens in Albemarle County.
