“Extreme recycling”: That’s how Bill Jobes described his work on a Fifeville house to me when I visited some months ago to research the cover story in the ABODE that’s just come out.
See, Bill had bought the house with renovation in mind; actually did some of that renovation; then woke up one morning to find that a major fire had destroyed that work and cast the entire project into doubt. But he persevered, deciding to save the structure instead of tearing it down, and went so far as to restore its smallest details, like window trim, that had been damaged by the flames.
It’s a great story and a great house. Pick up ABODE and check it out.
