Christian Schoenewald just announced that Democratic candidate David Slutzky conceded the Board of Supervisors race to Republican candidate Rodney Thomas by phone. Thomas stepped onstage to hugs from his fellow party members.
"Our party is together," Thomas emphasized after an introduction from Schoenewald. "Now we can give Albemarle County back to the Albemarle County citizens." A woman who joined my booth began to whoop loudly, and the room erupted in chants of "Rodney! Rodney!"
