The Virginia Theatre Festival opens its 2026 season with Moriarty: A New Sherlock Holmes Adventure. Penned by Tony Award-winner Ken Ludwig, the play features just five actors who play multiple roles. When an investigation into the Bohemian king’s stolen letters cascades into an international mystery filled with spies, blackmail, and intrigue, Sherlock Holmes and his trusty sidekick Watson team up with American actress Irene Adler to face off against the brilliant criminal mastermind Professor James Moriarty and his cadre of henchmen. $15–40, times vary.
