Over the weekend, Steve Blaine, an attorney representing Biscuit Run, told the Daily Progress that the project has been put on hold due to the economy.
Because of the size of the project, 3,100 units, developers told the Progress that it would take about 20 years before the community is built in its entirety.
“To launch a phase of a development of that size is taking a huge level of risk,” Blaine told the Progress. “We want to make sure that it’s the right environment to launch the next phase. We’re not in that environment right now.”
The project, which was once rejected by the County Planning Commission, is the largest proposed residential development in the county.
