Job title: Director of community attention, guiding children and families in need
Has worked for the city for: 13 years
Resides in: Charlottesville
Best of times: Seeing alumni of his program. “It’s great when kids come back years later, and can clearly tell you what a difference the program has made in their life.”
Worst of times: When his program’s kids are in the news for the wrong reasons. “There’s sometimes that there are local young people in the news as either the victim or the perpetrator of a crime. We often know them. That’s always hard on our staff and our kids.”
Strangest moment: Too numerous to count. “That’s part of the job, seeing strange things. I have funny stories for each kid.”
If he were a superhero, he’d be: Wolverine. “I used to have all those X-Men comic books.”
