O.K., puppies, here’s the latest roundup of green reads from around the web.
From Inhabitat, one of those techno-stories that sounds almost too good to be true. Trash made into electricity? Without too many emissions? Dude.
From ye olde Washington Post, a bummer of an update on the big power line proposed for Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Northern Virginia. I wrote about this a while ago when things looked more hopeful. It’s not good news, unless you make your living at a power company, or believe deeply in your right to operate six refrigerators and a 50" plasma TV.
On Grist, a breakdown of the brewing conflict between Congressmen John Dingell (D-Mich.) and Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) over who will head up the house Energy and Commerce Committee. In brief, the job has big significance for a lot of pollution-related issues and although Dingell and Waxman are both Dems, they see things quite differently.
Grist also has this news on what it calls a "landmark decision" about the future of coal-fired power plants. Anyone know what this means for the new plant set to be built in Wise County?
I’ll be publishing more green reads later in the week, so send in your nominations!
