River Bend Management announced today that it has signed a lease agreement with Wegmans Food Market, a grocery store known for its low prices and extensive prepared food section. Wegmans will be the primary anchor of the new shopping center located at Interstate 64 and 5th Street, which will include other upscale retailers and restaurants.
“We’ve been working on that deal for some time,” said Alan Taylor, Vice President of River Bend Management. Taylor did not comment on other retailers to join the shopping center, but said he expects the announcement about Wegmans to attract other tenants. The developers said the location will attract city and county residents who don’t want to fight 29 traffic.
