A little more than a week after UVA football head coach Al Groh fired his son, Mike, as the team’s offensive coordinator, the University has found his replacement: former Bowling Green head coach Gregg Brandon.
Brandon went 44-30 in six seasons at Bowling Green before being fired late last month. The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that Brandon was sought after for his spread offense.
Brandon has been an assistant coach at Weber State, Wyoming, Utah State, Northwestern, Colorado and finally, Bowling Green.
The Times-Dispatch also reports that another possible new hire for UVA is University of Tennessee wide receivers coach Latrell Scott.
As for Mike Groh, he is said to be in the running for the head coach job for Towson University.
