Albemarle County police have announced the names of those involved in the county’s first homicide, which occurred yesterday afternoon. Police say that Travis Scott, a 23-year-old county resident, was killed in an attempted robbery.
Stacy Lamont Berry, a 20-year-old county resident, has been charged with the murder, while Marcus Antwan Rawlings, 20-years-old, has been charged with robbery. A 15-year-old juvenile has also been charged with robbery.
At 4pm yesterday, police responded to the University Heights apartment complex, just off Ivy Road. They found a man who appeared to have been shot, and he was transported to UVA hospital, where he died of his injuries.
At least two others were injured in the incident, according to police. One man went to UVA hospital “by private vehicle” and is being treated for gunshot injuries. Police say he is in stable condition. Police also located a juvenile with gunshot injuries and had him transported to UVA hospital for treatment.
