Brains or brawn?
UVA football coach Al Groh (63-66 in six seasons) may spend most of his time on the field, but an invitation last Thursday from University Librarian Karin Wittenborg prompted the pigskin bigwig to spend at least one afternoon testing the waters of academia as “Guest Librarian.” Wittenborg was invited to serve as Guest Football Coach for the Cavaliers in last fall’s victory over Florida State, and she returned the favor by offering Groh a day of library tours and meet-and-greets. You never know: After so many years in athletics, the football lifer may finally find his calling among the dusty stacks.
