Ever walk into Old Cabell Hall and wonder what’s the deal with that enormous mural? It wasn’t Banksy (sorry—bad joke), but Charlottesville’s quasi-equivalent Lincoln Perry.
If you missed the screening of The Murals of Lincoln Perry, produced and directed by local documentarian Bill Reifenberger, at last year’s Virginia Film Festival, fret not: The Murals airs on PBS tonight at 9pm.
The film follows Perry, as he continues work on the mural inside Old Cabell Hall. "The scale, which lets these figures be life size, allows us to relate to them as peers, and makes their space potentially accessible and continuous with our own," reads Perry’s website. The mural was installed in 2000, and Perry has since extended the work into the building’s wings.
