Hello, dear readers. Hope you had a lovely Memorial Day weekend. A few notes for your Tuesday:
- Local artist management firm The Artist Farm announced last month that they were going to start a new local music festival, the Festy, to be curated by the Infamous Stringdusters. One month later it looks like the bill for the show, which will take place at Devil’s Backbone in October, is starting to shape up: In addition to the Stringdusters, looks like Josh Ritter, the Devon Sproule and Paul Curreri Band, Railroad Earth and, rounding out the train-theme, Old School Freight Train will be there. Keep your eyes on the website for changes and more info.
- Ronda Hewitt, Live Arts‘ education director, announced last week she’s moving on. Since 2007, when she started the position, she has "shepherded and guided literally hundreds of students" through theater education programs, ranging from summer camps to the Live Arts Teen Theater Ensemble, a release said. Lest the kiddies go unedumacated, Amanda McRaven will tend the flock through July 31, after which—job alert!—Live Arts is seeking a full-timer. Also coming up: the theater is announcing its new season tonight. Check back here tomorrow for a full update.
