A 16-year-old teen has pleaded guilty to five of 15 felony charges filed in connection to his role in the Interstate 64 shootings that took place in March, injuring several people and forcing authorities to shut down the road and local schools, according to The Daily Progress.
Prosecutors argued that the teen fired one shot off the Route 690 overpass, as well as firing shots on Greenwood Station Road and on Miller School Road. The teen pleaded guilty to five counts of maliciously shooting at an occupied vehicle and faces the possibility of remaining in detention until he is 21.
The other alleged participant in the I-64 shootings, 19-year-old Slade Allen Woodson, is scheduled to appear in court May 15 for a preliminary hearing.
