Tea Party to host first debate for Fifth District Republican hopefuls

The 2010 political season is underway.

It’s shaping up to be a busy time for County Supervisor Ken Boyd. First, he has started maneuvers to take the chairmanship of the board, according to yesterday’s Daily Progress. And next he has to get ready to face the six other Republicans who want a chance to unseat Tom Perriello, the Democratic Congressman from the Fifth District. The local Tea Party will host three debates in advance of the springtime GOP primary.

The January 22 debate is open to the public and will be held in the Lane Auditorium in the Albemarle County Office Building at 7pm. Two more debates are planned in Lynchburg and the Danville-Martinsville area in February and March.
