The Albemarle County Police Department released the results from its speed enforcement operation on the 250 bypass, which was conducted on February 13.
According to a press release, 185 total summonses were issued. Of those, 146 were for speeding, with ticketed speeds from 68 to 90 miles per hour.
The remaining 39 summonses covered a wide range of infractions from illegal window tint and expired registrations to seatbelt violations and possession of marijuana.
“The Albemarle County Police Department’s Traffic Unit will continue to take a proactive stance on reducing the number of fatalities occurring within our county and increasing our citizen’s awareness through education, enforcement and engineering,” Sergeant Darrell R. Byers said in the release.
