According to a moderator on TheSabre.com, the Yeardley Love Women’s Lacrosse Memorial Fund is well on its way to a $500,000 goal. Lo Davis, an assistant director at the UVA Athletics Foundation, spoke with the Cavalier sports fansite about the fund. "Within three hours of being announced, [Davis] said the fund received donations and pledges reaching into six figures," reports The Sabre. The post adds that Virginia alums who played on the school’s lacrosse teams up to 50 years ago have donated.
