Bite the Bullitt: Steve McQueen is the grave-faced police lieutenant tasked with protecting a key murder witness in the 1968 action-thriller Bullitt. Yet before the night is over, the witness is dead and McQueen must uncover who’s behind it. He faces gangs, violence, and cinema’s most famous car chase, while expressing not a flicker of emotion. As the smoke billows from under his Mustang GT, the audience can’t help but wonder how much longer he’ll keep his cool.
