Manute Bol, a 10-year veteran of the National Basketball Association and, at 7’6", one of the tallest men in league history, died on Saturday at the University of Virginia Medical Center. Bol, a native of Sudan, was hospitalized in May after experiencing kidney failure and contracting a skin condition called Stevens-Johnson Syndrome during a visit to his home country, where he was building a school and assisting in reconciliation efforts.
