Kathryn Russell, owner of Majesty Farms and member of VICFA (Virginia Independent Consumers and Farmers Association) died last Thursday in a car accident on Route 29 South.
According to the Daily Progress, Russell tried to cross Rte. 29 on Plank Road but was hit by a van and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Albemarle County police Sgt. Jerry Utz said Russell wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.
According to an obituary in the Daily Progress, Russell is survived by her husband Wayne Russell and her children Holly, Lynn, Laura, Emily, Beth, Charlotte, Caleb and Hannah.
She was 54.
