C-VILLE has been following the Hope Community Center’s zoning dispute with the city over operating a homeless shelter on 11th Street NW, but if the Board of Zoning Appeals doesn’t rule in Hope’s favor at an April 17 hearing, at least two men will have jobs to fall back on. According to Hope’s Josh Bare, almost 60 people completed resumés for a Piedmont Virginia Community College job fair on March 26. As a result, two of Hope’s homeless obtained jobs—one as a dishwasher and another as a city maintenance man.
