I bring ye tidings of auditory comfort and joy!
- "I got the guitar taken away from me a lot in high school for this song here," Sam Wilson said before Sons of Bill performed a choice Metallica cut at The Paramount Theater last summer. "Sorry, mom and dad." The Sons posted a pair of covers from the Paramount show as a Christmas gift. Funny how many elements of metal you can hear in SOB tunes after listening to this one…
- Speaking of Sam Wilson, he and new/old SOB drummer Todd Wellons rounded out Paul Curreri‘s band for a snowy gig at The Southern last Friday. (Sons need some new press shots, I think, now that Brian Caputo is no longer behind the kit.) I showed up in the midst of the "Should we or shouldn’t we?" discussion and, fortunately for the few who braved the storm, Curreri and company decided that they should play for a reduced cover charge. Why am I sharing this? Because they also rescheduled their gig for January 18, and the band was tight and sharp as razorwire. No excuses next month, people.
- Bella Morte rescheduled their gig at The Jefferson Theatre, but unfortunately the fellows in Egypt can’t make the new date, slated for January 2. Instead, This Means You is on the bill. Goddamn, that’s a local metal show! Any other rescheduled gigs? Post ’em below, after this Bella classic:
Feedback can’t hear this song without thinking of Back to the Future.
