Halsey Minor’s Albemarle spread off the block for now

It looks like Landmark Hotel owner Halsey Minor won’t need to be present, or to send someone on his behalf, on the steps of the courthouse next week.

William Casterline, Jr. of Blankingship & Keith, P.C. has confirmed that the foreclosure sale on the primary lien for Minor’s Fox Ridge 206-acre Albemarle County estate has been cancelled.

Originally, the trustees’ sale was supposed to take place on February 18 at 3pm for a Deed of Trust dated December 2007 in the principal amount of $6.52 million.

Just last month, Minor fought off possible bidders for the second loan used to finance the property. The winning bid was $1.3 million, bought on behalf of Minor by his Charlottesville attorney, but that sale was subjected lien from the first lender, First Republic Bank, which was contested by this cancelled sale.
