Glenmore treasurer pleads guilty and faces 120 years in prison

Michael Comer, former treasurer of the Glenmore Community Association, pleaded guilty to four counts of embezzlement and one count of money laundering, reports the Daily Progress.

In July of last year, Comer disappeared from his Wintergreen home. A few days later, Nelson County Sheriff David Brooks said he was entertaining the idea that Comer may be hiding.

Comer went missing at the time when the Glenmore Community Association was undergoing an audit and more than $465,000 was missing. In late July, Comer was found, arrested and charged with five counts of embezzlement. According to the article, Commonwealth Attorney Denise Lunsford said that Comer repaid $210,000 of the total funds missing.

Comer is to be sentenced on June 30 and faces up to 120 years in prison and a $500,000 fine.
