Ex-coach pleads guilty for kiddie porn

A former Albemarle High School JV girls’ soccer coach entered a plea agreement with federal prosecutors February 1 on counts of child pornography, attempting to obtain child pornography, and coercing minors into sexual acts over the Internet. Raja Charles Jabbour’s agreement says he will serve nine years in prison, then be deported from the country, but not before registering as a sex offender.

Jabbour was arrested and questioned by Ohio authorities in January 2004—he made a trip to Ohio to meet a woman who he thought wanted him to sexually initiate her two daughters, ages 7 and 12. The “woman” with whom Jabbour chatted on the Internet turned out to be an undercover cop, though that case was ultimately dropped.

Jabbour was arrested locally in April 2006, when police discovered hundreds of files of child pornography on Jabbour’s computer and found chats in which Jabbour convinced a 12-year-old girl to commit sex acts and transmit them to him via Web cam. He tried to persuade the girl to commit acts of bestiality with her dog, and pretended to be disappointed if she didn’t send him new videos.

Previously, Jabbour had served as a coach for Monticello United Soccer Club and the Soccer Organization of Charlottesville-Albemarle. He is a Lebanese national, here on a visa, and owns Hannibal Enterprises, Inc., an import-export business.

Jabbour could have faced up to 60 years imprisonment for the charges.
