As Republican Rodney Thomas maintains his 8 percent lead over David Slutzky in the Board of Supervisors race with 50 percent of precincts reporting, the race for attorney general seems to’ve come to a close. According to WTOP, the AP called the attorney general race for Republican candidate Ken Cuccinelli over Democratic challenger Steve Shannon.
"This is a good ol’ fashioned ass whupping," remarked Allen Powell within earshot of our table. "Compliments of Barack Obama, David Axelrod, Emanuel, Nancy Pelosi." He walked away.
Minutes later, Christian Schoenewald announced that the 58th district race had been called by the Associated Press for Republican incumbent Rob Bell. Ass whupping, indeed.
