Well, here we are. Only 32 minutes past 7pm, and already three people at the Republican victory party—where your writer and her co-hort for the evening, Brendan Fitzgerald, are situated—have informed us who is currently in the lead for Virginia Governor. So far, it’s Bob McDonnell.
"Six thousand to 3,000! We’re up," yells a passerby. And then, claps from the crowd, as we all look at the TV: McDonnell is up 66 percent to Creigh Deeds’ 34.
On tonight’s guest list: Albemarle County Republican party Chairman Christian Schoenwald, Albemarle County Sheriff Chip Harding, former City Councilor Rob Schilling and Supervisor Ken Boyd.
