Election Day: Gubernatorial race called for McDonnell, Thomas pulls ahead

The AP just called the Governor’s race for Bob McDonnell, 63 percent to 37 percent. The State Board of Elections website says that 36 percent of precincts have reported.

"It’s a wonderful night to be a Republican in the Commonwealth of Virginia," says Republican Chairman Christian Schoenwald.

With 33 percent of precincts reporting, Republican Board of Supervisors candidate Rodney Thomas currently has an 8 percent lead over Democratic challenger David Slutzky.
