Every year, one of my colleagues puts on an antler hat and ornament glasses, commandeers an office computer and pumps out the Christmas jams. So far today, we’ve covered the Burl Ives logburners, a few John Denver & the Muppets carols (my suggestion, shot down after "12 Days of…") and Michael Bublé. Currently, it’s a very merry R&B holiday, with Boyz II Men singing let it snow. Hey, look! Someone took the "rock" straight out of Norman Rockwell! (Actually, I think they also removed the "norm" and the "well"…)
I don’t need your sympathy. But I would apprecite your commiseration. Here are a few more holiday classics:
Run-DMC, "Christmas in Hollis"
"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," from "A Christmas Together with John Denver and the Muppets." I always thought Rolf was inspired by Tom Waits…
"Do They Know It’s Christmas?" at Live Aid.
What are your essential holiday listens? Be honest, people—there’s no shame here. I mean, John Denver and the Muppets?
P.S. Feedback and crew constructed an enormous snow fort that should stand for another day or so on the Downtown Mall. Consider it open for business/snowball fights.
