A reader responds to the December 30 issue

The most obvious source of stressful racial relations in Charlottesville [“City says let’s look at racial tension—again,” Government News, December 30, 2008] are the frequent reports of shootings and robberies committed by blacks, far outnumbering violent crimes perpetrated by white people.
