Clooney connection

His only crime is breaking hearts, but with a mug like that, we’re more than happy to include George Clooney on our blotter. Oh and now that he’s made a deal with our favorite local courts and crime hero (and handsome man in his own right) John Grisham (www.jgrisham.com), we feel a little claim to People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive.” The actor and filmmaker, along with Warner Bros., has bought the movie rights to Grisham’s first nonfiction novel, The Innocent Man, which tells the true, tragic tale of a man who was wrongly convicted of a brutal rape and murder and spent 12 years on death row before he was exonerated. Albemarle resident Grisham reportedly will receive seven figures and a share of gross film receipts for the rights (and since we all know what a good doer he is, that’s great news for local charities).
