C-VILLE Minute: Your weekend preview

It’s a special "technical difficulties" edition of your C-VILLE Minute, in honor of the radically distorted quicktime video I just tried to export. Alas, a weekend lies ahead that I can hardly wait to sink my teeth into!

Some great stuff going on all weekend going on, with new theater options opening up at Four County Players (Doubles: A History of Men and Women in the theater’s new black box theater) and the Hamner Theater. (They’ve got A Midsummer Night’s Dream.) Good reports have been coming in from Live Arts‘ production of Dangerous Liaisons—tomorrow is your last night to catch it.

As far as rocking fare goes, this evening’s show at the Garage comes with the official Feedback seal of approval, pretested and retested to assure maximum quality: The Acorn Sisters perform with Jim Waive. By the looks of it, it’s a beautiful evening, so what better way to start the weekend? Speaking of duos, an exciting and brand new duo swings by the Southern tomorrow, composed of Thao Nguyen (of the Get Down Stay Down) and K Records darling Mirah. Looking forward to seeing what they’ve got cooked up.

Finally, for all of you movie lovers, or if you’re just a lover of climate control: Vinegar Hill Theater opens Nicole Holofcener’s Please Give today, and it stars your favorite actress Catherine Keener. She’s mine too!

What’re you up to this weekend?
