C-VILLE Minute: your weekend preview

It might be a stormy weekend, but there are plenty of kicks to be had. Sons of Bill return tonight to the Jefferson Theater. It’s the first date on their Life in Shambles tour. If you go to the show you can pick up a copy of a three-song EP, Take a Shower, Call Your Mother, Your Life is in Shambles. According to a release, "That’s right: no iTunes, no Best Buy, you gotta come out to the dirty rock clubs and lay your greasy $5 bills on the merch table"—a gritty throwback to the days when people used money to buy stuff.

Tonight is also a killer bill at the Southern, featuring the rejiggered Sarah White and the Pearls with cute-sounding Red Rattles and Pompadour. When the smoke clears, probably around midnight, the Cinnamon Band will take the stage for an EP release party.

Don’t forget that the Dogwood Festival Parade is tomorrow at 10:50am Downtown. Historic Garden Week and Architecture Week also both continue through the weekend.

Me? I’m headed to Florida to visit my grandma.
