Best fail

Oh, wow. I really didn’t expect this. I really don’t know what to say. I would like to thank my owner, Halsey Minor, for his vision and imprudent fiscal responsibility. He has backed me up when the times called for aggressive negotiations; he has supported me throughout the dramatic national financial collapse to ensure that I get to where I am today. If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t just be half-built nor a constant eye sore for the Charlottesville community.

Also, can I just give a big, huge thank you to the person who created me, to a person who has found the perfect partner in Halsey? That’s right, I’m talking about you, Mr. Lee Danielson. Thank you for envisioning the Downtown Mall as a new, hipper Santa Monica, and then bailing (again) when times got tough. It’s surreal.

Is this thing on?

And I’d like to note the beautiful communion of Lee and Halsey in the press. Those bad-mouthing sessions and priceless online comments have helped get me where I am today, receiving one of the most coveted honors in a city that got big in its britches after that Number One designation and is now enjoying the success of failure just like me.

Last, but certainly not least, I would also like to thank Atlanta-based Silverton Bank for its impressive, successful portfolio mismanagement and its incredible lack of longevity.

Once I only dreamed of being a brilliant mistake. Just look at me now.
