UPDATE: Virginia and Florida are still too close to call, but MSNBC now projects that Ohio and New Mexico, once red states, will turn blue and push Barack Obama closer to the 270 electoral college votes necessary to win the presidency. Obama currently has a projected 200 electoral college votes, while McCain has a projected 90.
MSNBC is projecting Obama as the winner of Ohio (20), New Mexico (5), Michigan (17), Minnesota (10), New York (31), Rhode Island (4), and Wisconsin (10).
McCain is projected to win Kansas (6), North Dakota (3) and Wyoming (3) and Arkansas (6) and West Virginia (5).
Total electoral college votes: Obama 200, McCain 90.
