The Biltmore Grill

The appeal of the Biltmore Grill in the summertime is undeniable: a big, breezy, vine-covered outdoor patio, affordable beer, and the charm of Elliewood Avenue with a minimum of young Wahoos to spoil it. The American fare here is always a good bet, and the Bison Cheeseburger offers a summer favorite with, as the menu boasts, much less fat than a beef burger. (We made up for the caloric content with a couple of cheap drafts—it is still a college bar, after all.) We recommend skipping the spuds and ordering “Bilt’s” sweet potato fries: thin, stringy, sweet-and-salty delights that reminded us that despite the Vineyard-esque surroundings, we’re still in the South.
