Oh, Charlottesville City Schools—all your careful scheduling of professional work days was for naught! Instead, city public schools replaced five work days with five additional days of pencils, books, teachers and dirty looks.
And make-up days start as early as next week, with classes reinstated for Monday, February 15 and Tuesday, February 16. The other make-up dates include Friday, March 12; Friday, April 2; and Friday, June 11. Which means—that’s right, students—the last day of school, originally slated for June 10, is officially one day further away.
On a related note, city schools will open two hours late tomorrow, according to the website. No word yet on Albemarle County Public Schools.
